MAIN EVENT WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR ALL
Everything in Life is for Your Awakening – Staying Heart-Centered in Challenging Times
Life is difficult. Especially now. And especially since the beginning of the pandemic! How can
you practice yoga and stay heart-centered amidst these challenging times? Well, actually, how
can you not practice yoga? Now more than ever, it’s necessary to have a spiritual practice, a
community, and the commitment to keep the fire of your longing for a better world alive, to keep
your hope alive.
This is why Todd is coming to Sarasota, FL, to gather with like-minded yogis to uplift, inspire,
and deepen our longing to create a world of peace, kindness, compassion, respect, and love; to
keep our dreams alive; and to thrive in life.
The basis of our exploration begins with the Tantric teaching that everything in life is for your
awakening. This attitude and perspective shifts you from victim consciousness, where you feel
that life is happening TO you, to victory consciousness, where you feel that life is happening
FOR you. You come to recognize that life has your back. Life wants you to succeed. And
challenges never come to put you down. They only come when you’re ready to have a
breakthrough and when you’re ready for a promotion. It’s all a matter of perspective.
As humans, we are meaning-making machines. We can’t always control what happens in our
life, but we have control over the meaning we assign to it. In Ashaya Yoga, we choose to see
that everything happens for our awakening, to help us live a better life, to care more, to be more
inspired, and to source the inner strength we all have to rise up and do the right thing, to serve
the highest light in others and in ourselves.
During this workshop, we use the five elements in Ashaya Yoga – earth, water, fire, air, and sky
– to awaken and balance the elements within. We’re all made of the five elements, and when
we die, we’ll all return to them. In the meantime, when we balance the elements within, we
become more grounded like the earth, we soften and flow around obstacles like water, we
arouse our ferocity of purpose with fire, we breathe our dreams into reality with air, and with sky,
we touch the vastness of all possibilities to bring about a vision of heaven on earth.

WHAT IS ASHAYA YOGA?
Ashaya Yoga is an alignment-based, heart-centered method that builds strength, flexibility, and
balance, along with heart wisdom that empowers you to create a life of fulfillment and joy.
Ashaya emphasizes safety and is accessible for all levels of yogis. Variations are given to
accommodate individual needs and limitations. Students are encouraged to work comfortably at
their own level and ability. Ashaya is a Sanskrit word that means abode of the heart.
Ashaya Yoga brings about a flowing integration of all five elements that leaves you feeling
strong, confident, peaceful, openhearted, and ready to engage with life wholeheartedly from a
place of worthiness.

MAIN EVENT WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR ALL – PART 1
FRIDAY, FEB. 3, 2023 – 7-9:30 pm

Open Sky – Bask in Your Vastness
Open your sky element. Akasha, Sanskrit for space or sky, is the highest and most subtle of the
five elements. It’s the space within which all other elements exist. Recognize that you live within
this vast and unbounded freedom of the sky that is filled with all possibilities. Practice includes
warm-ups, standing poses, hip openers, backbends, forward bends, twists, and savasana
(relaxation).

DAY 2

MAIN EVENT WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR ALL – PART 2
SATURDAY, FEB. 4, 2023 – 10 am-12:30 pm

Engage Earth – Become Grounded in Who You Are
Ground yourself in the earth element. Prithvi, Sanskrit for earth, is the most solid and limited of
the five elements. Yet it is filled with consciousness. Earth is the sky condensed. Ground
yourself in the reality of who you are. Practice includes warmups, standing poses, balancing
poses, core strengtheners, backbends, and savasana.

MAIN EVENT WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR ALL – PART 3

SATURDAY, FEB. 4, 2023 – 2-4:30 pm
Align Water and Fire – Flow with What You Truly Desire

Align your water and fire elements. Ap, Sanskrit for water, and Agni, Sanskrit for fire, interweave
together to form a powerful blend of nectar and intensity. Water always flows back to the
source. It soothes and invites us to feel our feelings with acceptance and grace. Fire purifies our
purpose and is a powerful force of longing for freedom amidst challenges. Practice includes
warmups, hip openers, leg stretches, forward bends, twists, and yoga nidra (yogic sleep), which
is a wonderful, deeply nourishing, guided journey in savasana with visualization, meditation, and
deep reflection.

SATURDAY, MARCH 18, 2023 – 7-8:30 PM

DAY 3
MAIN EVENT WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR ALL – PART 4
SUNDAY, FEB. 5, 2023 – 10 am-12:30 pm

Expand into Fullness – Breathe Your Dreams into Reality
Expand your air element. Vayu, Sanskrit for air, is your capacity to expand beyond previously
held limits and to let go of what no longer serves you. You begin with the fire element to re-
ignite your passion, then use that energy to expand your reach, envision, and create the world
in which you want to live. Practice includes warmups, deep core work, hip openers, backbends,
twists, and a deep savasana to integrate all five elements.

SPECIAL THERAPEUTIC WORKSHOP FOR ALL
